VR game &interaction UI/product design

Starting with the topic of digital heritage, I designed a VR game and interactive interface product aimed at supporting Alzheimer’s treatment. This project showcased both my design skills and research capabilities. My approach began with conducting interviews in Shanghai’s Caoyang community, where I engaged elderly participants to gain firsthand insights, collecting essential data and design inspiration directly from potential end-users.

Throughout the design process, I applied storyboarding techniques from film to develop and refine interactive features, allowing me to visualize user flow and optimize gameplay. Additionally, I created physical stage setups to experiment with user interaction and spatial movement, ensuring that each element felt intuitive and immersive.

For environment modeling, I drew inspiration from iconic architectural heritage sites worldwide, enriching the game’s virtual landscapes with cultural depth. This gave the VR experience a unique visual appeal that also resonated with users’ sense of familiarity and nostalgia.

After completing the game demo, I conducted a trial run, receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback from players across age groups, which validated the design's accessibility and therapeutic potential.
