Colortalk
UIUX design
In designing the Colortalk app, I sought to address the unique challenges faced by colorblind design students, a group often neglected by current color aids.
My concept is to develop a mobile app that provides both functional color recognition tools and a platform for community interaction. Core features include Colortalk for sharing color-related posts, Colorboard for exploring and sharing useful color swatches, and Colorview for real-time color identification.
A standout feature is the inclusion of filters that allow users to experience how individuals with different types of color blindness see the world, fostering empathy and understanding within the community.
Feedback from testing helped refine the app’s functionality.
The final product not only assists colorblind students with color identification but also creates a space for social engagement and peer support.
By offering these users a platform to connect and share their experiences, Colortalk empowers colorblind individuals to redefine their relationship with color and provides them with a sense of community and belonging in the design world.
